City of Winchester, Tank Demolition

For the Strothers Lane tank project, WML removed a 3,000,000-gallon water tank with lead paint. The tank thickness varied and its size required specialized equipment and crews, in addition to environmental monitoring for the lead removal. We safely removed the tank in 7 working days despite limited access for trucking and only being able to access 25 percent of the tank from the outside. Instead, we cut through the part of the tank we could access and demolished it, in pieces, from the inside.

The work demonstrates WML’s expertise in hazardous remediation and innovate approaches to thorny and unusual problems.
